Bollywood in the path of redemption with “Radhe” and “Sooryavanshi” releases

After the COVID pandemic breakout in 2020, Bollywood has many movies lined up for release in theatres in 2021. Among the movies, the much-awaited and anticipated are Radhe and Sooryavanshi, which has a star-studded cast. The movies “Radhe” and “Sooryavanshi” are scheduled for release on 13 May 2021 and 30 April 2021 respectively. These movies are expected to revive the already ailing Bollywood film industry. The theatres, which faced a major shut down the previous year, due to the pandemic, is expecting a boom with the film-goers returning after the reopening of the theatres.

Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai” or simply “Radhe”, is an upcoming action film, directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Salman Khan, Sohail Khan and Atul Agnihotri under the banner of Reel Life Production Private Limited, Sohail Khan Productions, and Salman Khan Films and distributed by Zee Studios. The film starring Salman Khan, Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda, Jackie Shroff and Megha Akash, is scheduled to release in theatres on 13 May 2021, coinciding with Eid al-Fitr. The film was officially announced on 18 October 2019, and the principal photography began on 01 November 2019 in Lonavala. It wrapped up on 14 October 2020. The film, scheduled to release on 22 May 2020, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sooryavanshi”, an action film, directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Vinod, Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Rohit Shetty under the banner of Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Picturez, Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films. The film is written by Farhad Samji, Sanchit Bendre, Vidhi Ghodgadnkar and Yunus Sajawal, based on an original story by Rohit Shetty. The film, fourth instalment of Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe, stars Akshay Kumar as Anti-Terrorism Squad Chief DCP Veer Sooryavanshi opposite Katrina Kaif, with supporting cast of Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh, Niharica Raizada, Vivan Bhatena, Sikandar Kher, Nikitin Dheer and Javed Jaffrey. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh in extended cameo appearances reprise their roles of Singham and Simmba from the franchise’s previous films. Initially locked for theatrical release on 24 March 2020, Sooryavanshi was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India.

The film is expected for theatrical release on 30 April 2021.
